BioSightPlus-ID™ Dashboard

BioSightPlus-ID offers all the standard features of BioSight-ID, with enhanced additions including crystal-clear video, full audio, screen recording, and Wizard Steps that guide users to perform actions to ensure academic integrity.

Locating the BioSight-ID™ Dashboard

All BioSight-ID, and BioSightPlus-ID sessions are maintained inside the same dashboard.

To open the dashboard, navigate to course management and expand course tools. from there you can select the BioSight-ID™ Dashboard.

Canvas:
To open the dashboard, navigate to courses and locate the BioSight-ID™ Dash link in the course navigation menu. If menu item is not available use the navigational option to activate it, or contact your administrator.

Overview of the Dashboard

Within the BioSight-ID™ Dashboard you have the option to filter, search, or scroll down to view resent sessions.

Below the search bar, you’ll see the following options:

  1. Show Clear – View BioSightPlus-ID sessions as clear videos. When unchecked sessions appear blurred.
  1. Use Relative Time – Shows time to begin action in hours/minutes/seconds from video start. When disabled shows time zone-based timestamps.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to update your time zone settings.

Using the Filter


For this instruction we will use the filter in the top left corner.
Sessions can be filtered in a variety of ways, all configurable to provide only results that are relevant. For this demonstration we will be searching to "end.user@example.edu".

Account: refers to your account with BioSig-ID™.
Account Filters

Range Preset: allows you to quickly locate a common time period, for example, today, last week, or last month.
Range Preset options, example Last week selected.

From and To: If you want to fine tune to a specific period of time, type in your date range.
Displaying From and To fields for date modification.

Alternatively you can click on the calendar icon to the right and leaf through months to select a specific day.

Using arrows to navigate to different months for exact date selection.

Scroll down to view 5 sliding bars. Each bar is modifiable at the beginning and end of its range by clicking and dragging the slider.

Show infraction % between: gives you the option to filter out the infraction percentages you do not wish to see. By default it excludes users below 10%

Show Session times between : Session time is measured in minutes allowing you to filter our BioSight-ID™ videos that do not match the expected duration.

Two Faces: Filter the results down to show videos with only multiple faces.

No Faces: percentage of time no faces were detected in the video.

Audio level: filters out users based on their audio level.
Modifiable sliding bars for Infractions, Session times, Two Faces, No Faces and Audio Level. Slide left to increase.

Saving Filters:

Once you are happy withe filters you have configured you can click "Apply" and "OK" to save your filters and view your results. When you come back next time your filters will be the same.

You also have the option to "Disable all".

Reviewing User Recordings

WarningBioSightPlus-ID sessions are fully visible and unmuted.
Please ensure you're in a secure environment to protect your students privacy. Session data must remain within your institution, accessible only to authorized instructors and administrators. If you aren't sure how to use this information please see your school policy.
Clear video and audio.

You are now presented with the results of your filter. To click individual recordings click View.

Blue Magnifying Glass:

Click the blue magnifying glass to focus on a specific user or BioSight-ID session. This lets you view related sessions and helps your computer run more efficiently by narrowing the results.

We highly recommend using this feature if you are on a limited network connection.

The opened recording will look something like this.

If you you see a blurred recording make sure you have the Show Clear checkbox activated, mentioned in the Overview.

Above the video is general information: Plus sessions will have a black camera and screen icon that is not present on normal BioSight-ID sessions.

  4. Heat map - Allows for quick location of suspicious activity

Farthest to the right there are a series of Icons.

Red ! Icon: Represents the total amount of infraction
Yellow Icon : Indicates that no user was visible for a time.
Green Icon : Indicates a user is present.
Double Red Icons : Indicates more than one user is present.
Grey Icon: Indicates the value falls below what we deem suspicious.

Infraction Icons

Current Frame Status Icons:
  1. Green – OK: No infraction detected.
  2. Yellow – Grace Period: Temporary issue, such as sneezing or brief face detection lag.
  3. Red – No Face Detected: User’s face is missing—possibly due to system issues or the user leaving the camera view.
  4. Red – Two Faces: A second face is detected. Review the video to confirm it's not a false positive, such as a photo or image in the background.

Below the video is the timeline with option to control playback.

Sound Levels:
Above the timeline, you'll see a visual representation of audio activity.
Noticeable peaks may indicate the use of unauthorized materials or communication with others during the exam. Jump to these sections to listen.

To mute the audio click on the green Sound Button.

Timeline Icons:
  1. Pen with Paper
    1. Black - The user has validated their BioSig-ID™
    2. Red - The user made and attempt to validate but failed.
  2. Star - BioSight-ID™ has stopped. The session is complete.

If the the System Assessment Test icons are red or yellow the student needs to make adjustments. Plese see our System Assessment Article for more info.

Current Frame details box:
Scroll through the timeline to dynamically update values, or click on the blue links to go to events.
Events:
  1. Launch- The user has initiated monitoring.
  2. BioSight-ID Launch- The system has opened the BioSight-ID monitoring tool.
  3. Validate Profile - The user has either validated successfully (✓) or failed (X).
  4. Show Calculator - The user is expected to display their calculator.
  5. Room Scan -The user is expected to perform a room scan.
  6. Ear buds -The user should show that their ears are unobstructed.
  7. CONFIRMATION - The user is given a second chance to complete Wizard steps and certifies that all steps are complete.
  8. Clicked Close (X) - The user has told the monitoring tool to close before the session could be completed.
  9. Closed (X) - The browser confirms the user has closed the monitoring tool.
  10. BioSight-ID Stop- The session is complete and the tool has stopped.
Warning
Please note that some browsers do not send a Closed message after the user Clicks Close and instead instantly end the session.

Multiple Faces:
To jump to instances where multiple faces are detected click the frame numbers in blue. This will move you to the spot on the timeline where two faces are visible.

BioSight-ID Session End Reason:

When you view a list of BioSight-ID recordings you will notice an Icon above the View/Collapse button.
Hover over this icon to learn important information about how the BioSight-ID session ended.


Red X: The monitoring tool was closed prematurely while the test was still in progress.

Yellow X: This user closed the monitoring tool before they validated their BioSig-ID password. The test was never accessed.

Yellow Triangle: The BioSight-ID session was ended because of internet connectivity issues.

Green Handshake: The BioSight-ID monitoring tool was not closed until successful completion of the test.

Black Apple: mac OS has disabled the webcam.  mac OS devices attempt to conserve power by turning off the webcam in any application when it is moved to the background. This may accompany any other icon.

No Icon: The session may still be in progress or the page has not fully loaded.

BioSightPlus-ID Specific instructions

You will only be able to see clear recordings for sessions recorded with BioSightPlus-ID.

These sessions will have a small camera icon, if screen recording was active you will also see a monitor-icon.
Available Recordings

The Wizard Steps will be numbered at the beginning of the time line. To jump to a specific Wizard Step, click it's corresponding blue link under the Events section.

To begin audio press play, once the session begins a audio button will pop up. Click the green audio-icon to mute the recording.

To make the video or screen recording larger click on the respective Zoom Magnifier icon in the top right corner.

Once you have pressed play, the additional option to go full screen will display next to the play buttons.

This option allows you to expand the video and screen recording across the entire display.

To play or stop the video simply click the screen. To exit full screen click the X.

Only in full screen mode will you be easily able to read text from the screen capture.

Below the play buttons you will see a timer that also displays the current frame.

In our example we are 2 seconds into the video at frame number 9.
